6-5-0 (5 KO) Canada

GLORY 40 Fighter of the Night

Josh Jauncey was born in London, England but moved to Vancouver, Canada with his family as a three year old. He has been coached all his life by his father Vincent, a former champion, and by 155lb legend Andy Souwer of Amsterdam, Netherlands.

He had his first fight at nine years old as a novice and went on to have a solid amateur career, with more than half his wins by way of KO. As a teenager he would spend his summers at the Mejiro Gym in Amsterdam, a legendary institution which has housed Rob Kaman, Andre Mannaart, Remy Bonjasky and Souwer among others.

Jauncey eventually took up residence there for a year and trained full-time alongside Souwer and other top professionals. One of them was UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo, who regularly travels to Amsterdam and trains at Meijiro to sharpen his stand-up skills.
