British welterweight knockout artist Paul ‘Semtex’ Daley is set to fight in his first GLORY bout when he competes at the upcoming Bellator/GLORY ‘Dynamite’ show in September.

Daley’s opponent is not set yet, but the Nottingham native says that he is ready to jump in at the deep end with an experienced name.

“I think I'm able to adjust from MMA to kickboxing more so than kickboxing to MMA. I will be more than ready to compete for GLORY at ‘Bellator: Dynamite,’” he told MMA website Bloody Elbow last week.

“I think I'd like a Top Ten guy, someone to motivate me more, a guy with maybe a few GLORY fights already.”

Next month - Friday, August 7 - GLORY 23 LAS VEGAS goes down at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. The card is headlined by Nieky ‘The Natural’ Holzken and Raymond ‘Real Deal’ Daniels competing for the vacant World Welterweight Championship.

Daley says that he is “not a fan” of Daniels, although he appreciates that “he has a really crowd-pleasing style for fans to watch”. He is backing Holzken to win the belt and become the new champion.

If the opportunity then came up for him to challenge Holzken for the belt, he wouldn’t say no.

“I think I can compete with Holzken, and if I land I will KO him. It's just his experience in the kickboxing game [is more than mine], he is so used to the timing and range etc. How do I see it going? I'm not sure,” he said.

In the meantime Daley will be fighting under MMA rules as he faces Dennis Olson at Bellator 140 on July 17. Daley also recently welcomed news that bitter rival Josh Koscheck has signed with Bellator, promising to go “nuclear” on the American when the “inevitable” rematch happens.
