*Spoiler* Debutants shine in Superfight Series openers

‘2Slick’ was the nickname and “too slick” was the game as Chad Sugden (14-3, 3 KO’s) shone on his official GLORY debut.

The young British welterweight faced Turkey’s Atakan Arslan (18-8, 14 KO’s) on the GLORY Superfight Series 20 card. His catchphrase is “make them miss, make them pay” and that was exactly what he did, cleverly evading much of Arslan’s output and then capitalizing as Arslan recovered his balance.

“I feel like it went according to plan. I felt in control for the whole fight really. There was only one moment where he caught me with something and that just kind of made me wake up,” said the 20-year-old afterwards.

“He’s a good fighter but I was feeling good in there, I was too fast for him. I don’t get hit cleanly a lot.”

Another debutant shone in the opening bout as Russia’s Anatoly Moiseev (10-0, 3 KO’s) stopped Germany’s Max Baumert (13-6, 4 KO’s) with a head kick just over thirty seconds into their fight.

A hard inside low kick took Baumert’s attention downwards as Moiseev was already transitioning into the follow-on head shot for his early finish. The stoppage came at 0:36 and guarantees Moiseev another GLORY outing in the near future.
