About KengoAbout KengoÂ
Kyokoshin Karate is a notoriously hard discipline, with a strong emphasis on toughness and physical condition. Stylists train bare-knuckle and, as they progress through the ranks, are required to undergo increasingly severe tests of strength and spirit in their training and sparring.Â
Kengo Shimuzu holds a black belt in the discipline and won several regional championships in his native Japan before moving into professional kickboxing. Once he made the transition he continued to embody the principles which had been drilled into him: relentless attack and resistance to pain.
Shimzu has spent most of his career at heavyweight, where his victories included GLORY veteran Raoumaru. He recently dropped a weight-class and will join GLORY’s light-heavyweight division, where he will face opponents who will test his mental and physical abilities to their limit.Â
