Ky Hollenbeck

Despite its size, the USA has never produced many kickboxers who could be considered truly world-class. Some of its heavyweights have done well on the world scene but the star names of the lighter weights have never had an American flag next to their name. Hollenbeck means to try and remedy that. His inclusion in the GLORY World Series is not a token gesture. He has earned his place with wins over such top fighting talent such as the very highly regarded Jordan Watson and the experienced international fighters Vuyisile Colossa and Gregory Choplin. At the end of April 2012 he asserted his right to a tournament spot authoritatively, demolishing the tough Cyrus Washington in under a minute. Hollenbeck finished Washington with a spinning back fist, underlining the assets which make him such an attractive prospect - raw power and creative flair. The only loss of Hollenbeck’s professional career was in 2011 at the hands of top Dutch talent Nicky Holzken. Far from demoralising him, Hollenbeck says the loss allowed him to return to his aggressive roots and once again enter the ring looking to finish his opponent rather than protect his unbeaten record. Newly refocused and in the best form of his career, Hollenbeck enters the GLORY World Series looking to climb over a mound of unconscious opponents and carry an American flag to the top of the kickboxing ranks at long last.
