About SannyAbout SannyÂ
Sanny Dahlbeck was just 21 years old when he stepped between the GLORY ropes for the first time. He debuted in the 2012 GLORY Lightweight Slam, which commenced in his native Stockholm, Sweden with a 16-man field.
Prior to the tournament he was an unknown outside of the Swedish kickboxing scene, but it didn’t take him long to make his mark. He made it to the semi-finals and stopped top Japanese name Yoshihiro Sato along the way.
Dahlbeck is a thoughtful and intelligent young man. In the ring he is a tricky, unorthodox southpaw and he gave every tournament opponent a lot of problems. The way he dropped Sato also showed he is as capable of stopping an opponent as he is of winning the points game.
Afterwards, Dahlbeck confessed that he found it “a bit surreal” when he stood in his corner and saw Sato stood opposite him. But its a feeling he will have to get used to - Dahlbeck is now firmly part of kickboxing’s premier league and he has plenty more big-name fights ahead of him.
