About ShaneAbout Shane
Shane Oblonsky has traveled a hard road in life. The young Californian lost his mother at an early age then his father at age 12. By age 14 he was something of a troubled youth, living in care homes and channeling his angst in negative directions.
It was at this point that a social worker introduced him to boxing. “I was in trouble at school and she suggested that boxing might be a way to get my energy out,” he says. Amateur boxing occupied him for several years, but it was the gym’s kickboxing program which caught his eye and decided his path in life.
At 18 he had his first Muay Thai fight and he got very active as an amateur. In one year he had at least a fight a month and at one point he put together a string of six consecutive KO victories. Even then he was dreaming of one day testing his skills against the very best kickboxers in the world.
Having taken his skills into the professional ranks with the same success he enjoyed as an amateur, the time is now for Oblonsky. He has secured a GLORY contract and the chance to prove himself against top competition he always wanted to face. He brings with him good hands, good kicks and a lot of knockout power.
