Ben Saddik vs Jurjendal : fight preview by unibet

The preview of GLORY 98’s main event is powered by Unibet.

This saturday night, February 22, GLORY will kick-off its 2025 calendar with a stacked and action-packed fight card live from the sold-out RTM Stage in Rotterdam. This event will feature 12 incredible bouts and will be headlined by the highly anticipated return of Jamal Ben Saddik (36-9, 29 KO) who will be facing the Estonian powerhouse Uku Jurjendal (20-9, 16 KO).

It’s been over two years since we last saw The Goliath inside the GLORY ring. The return announcement of the former GLORY title challenger was received with overwhelming enthusiasm by the fans and he is eager to prove that he hasn’t been eroded by time.

On the other side of the ring, Uku Jürjendal wants to spoil Jamal’s return and he is looking to add another great name to his resume. More than a year has passed since his TKO win over Badr Hari and he is now facing another great Moroccan heavyweight. He will make his first appearance in the GLORY ring since the GLORY Heavyweight Grand Prix in March 2024 where he fell short in the Quarterfinals against Levi Rigters.

The odds that this fight goes the distance are very slim. With over 80 % of their combined wins coming by way of a knockout, both Uku and Jamal will be eyeing a finish on Saturday night. We can expect Jamal to take control of the center of the ring, putting a relentless pressure on Uku who will probably be looking for a heavy overhand counter to stun The Goliath.

Uku’s power must not be underestimated by Ben Saddik. The Estonian fighter shocked the world when he knocked down Levi Rigters last year and all of his GLORY wins have occurred via finishes. Capable of resisting repeated assault from his opponents, Uku is as tough as they come and it will take a disciplined Ben Saddik to win this fight.

Speaking of The Goliath, some fans are questioning whether the time away from competition will affect the Moroccan inside the GLORY ring. He spent more than two years away from fighting and it will be interesting to see if he is subject to any ring rust. In that regard, it is fair to say that his vast experience needs to be accounted for. GLORY 98 will mark his twentieth appearance for the world leading kickboxing promotion and he has seen almost everything the fight game has to offer.

Overall, this should be a very entertaining fight between two heavyweights that will be constantly looking for the finish. Jamal knows taht he has to comeback with a great performance to make a statement while Uku wants to add yet another legendary name to his resume.Â
