COLLISION 8 is right around the corner. We are just a couple of days away from one of the biggest events on the kickboxing calendar. Amidst the action of the evening, the year-long Last Featherweight Standing tournament continues with two incredible fights taking place on the Superfight Series card, as well as a highly anticipated heavyweight superfight.
Trindade vs Sacko: A clash of featherweight titans
Former GLORY title contender Miguel Trindade (63-8, 26 KO) is set to face Bobo Sacko (79-6-1, 30 KO) in a highly anticipated fight that was originally supposed to take place at GLORY 104 and was rescheduled for December 13.
GLORY Collision 8 will mark the third appearance of Miguel Trindade inside the GLORY ring. El Unico bounced back in October with a dominant performance over Khalil KĂĽtĂĽkcu, months after he fell short in his title opportunity against Petch. The Portuguese powerhouse holds some of the deadliest weapons in the Featherweight division, especially his clinical boxing, which he pairs with unbelievable raw power for this weight class.
It will come in handy against Bobo Sacko, a crafty veteran who has proven to be very hard to handle for all the opponents he has faced inside the GLORY ring. Still undefeated under the GLORY banner, Sacko wants to make a statement at COLLISION 8. Miguel Trindade is his toughest fight to date and an opportunity for him to emerge as one of the top contenders in the division.
He will need all the ring science he has gathered throughout the years to handle the speed and aggressiveness of Trindade, who is always hunting for the finish. Fans can expect an incredible display of athleticism and dynamism from both men in this clash of styles that promises to deliver an outstanding fight.
Aasila vs Vidales: Battle of the new blood and the veteran
The night will open with a clash of generations as young prospect Achraf Aasila (53-13, 13 KO) takes on Mexican veteran Abraham Vidales (17-4, 14 KO).
Abraham Vidales makes his GLORY comeback and is looking to bounce back after a difficult 2024. Hungrier than ever, Vidales sees The Last Featherweight Standing tournament as a way to climb back to the top and earn another title opportunity. For that, his road starts with Achraf Aasila, who impressed the masses in his debut against Louis Saing at GLORY 102.
This fight should be a brawl between two high-volume fighters who do not want to concede the center of the ring. More than 80% of Abraham’s wins have come by way of knockout and there is no doubt he will look to increase that ratio on December 13. Aasila’s resilience has been tested many times and he is not an easy man to get rid of. When pain and fatigue begin to set in for both men, it will become a battle of wills and they have shown before that it’s a situation where they are both capable of shining.
Horta vs Bchiri: Heavyweight revenge on the line
A heavyweight superfight between the surging Nico “Big Sexy” Horta (26-10, 4 KO) and “The Soldier” Nidal Bchiri (19-5-1, 4 KO) will take place in the GelreDome.
Horta and Bchiri met back in 2021 and it was the Cape Verdean who took home the win. Now riding a three-fight winning streak inside the GLORY ring, Nico Horta wants to keep the ball rolling at COLLISION 8.
He will have to be careful of the hunger for revenge from Bchiri, however. The Moroccan fighter has made his way through the regional scene and has developed into a much more complete fighter than he was the first time they met. Very few fighters on earth can handle the pressure that Nico Horta brings into the ring and it will be a true test of growth for Bchiri, who wants to make a big impact on the biggest stage kickboxing has to offer.
