Fight Analysis GLORY Collision 8 Superfight Series Part 2

  • News
  • Dec 6, 2025

The countdown is almost over, GLORY COLLISION 8 is set to ignite the GelreDome on December 13, bringing fans another night of world-class kickboxing action. After a stacked undercard, the Superfight Series will close with two explosive matchups that perfectly capture the night’s energy: a long-awaited rematch over a decade in the making and a high-stakes Light-Heavyweight Tournament semi-final.

Lazaar vs Tavares: Thirteen years later, the rivalry reignites

Rematches are a major theme of this Superfight Series as Ismael Lazaar (30-3-1, 15 KO) and Luis Tavares (63-10, 21 KO) meet again as well, 13 years after their first encounter.

COLLISION 8 will mark the long-awaited return of Ismael Lazaar after years away from the GLORY ring. The Moroccan powerhouse hasn’t fought under the GLORY banner since his legendary bout with Rico Verhoeven and he now moves down a weight class to face Tavares once again.

Both men share a fierce rivalry that’s been brewing for years and it will finally reignite on December 13. Fans have missed Lazaar’s all-in, high-pressure style and he’s guaranteed to bring the heat. However, he might meet his match in terms of aggression, as Luis Tavares is never one to shy away from an all-out war.

With both fighters known for their knockout power, fans can expect fireworks from the opening bell. The stakes are high, the winner will earn the role of reserve fighter for the Light-Heavyweight Tournament later that night. That means both men will be motivated to finish early and save their energy, making this a fight where fans simply cannot blink.

Caceres vs Cvjetićanin: A technical war with revenge on the line

To close out the Superfight Series, the first semi-final of the Light-Heavyweight Tournament will take place as Cem Caceres (19-2, 14 KO) and Milos Cvjetićanin (16-4, 9 KO) meet for the second time this year.

Their first clash ended abruptly when Cvjetićanin broke Caceres’ nose with a devastating knee in the opening round. Needless to say, Caceres is hungry for revenge and he’s getting his shot sooner than expected.

This fight will be Cvjetićanin’s seventh fight of the year and he has the chance to make it eight before the year ends. The Serbian has become a true fan favorite in 2025, winning over audiences with his relentless pace, fearless approach and powerful boxing. Despite often facing size disadvantages, his resilience and high work rate have earned him five victories already this year.

This semi-final features two of the purest technicians on the GLORY roster. Caceres will look to return to the aggressive, pressure-based style that earned him a four-fight winning streak earlier in his GLORY career. Cvjetićanin, meanwhile, will aim to impose his rhythm early and keep the momentum going toward the tournament final.

Both fighters possess elite skills, championship-caliber toughness and a hunger to prove themselves. Expect a razor-close battle that could easily steal the show as one of the best fights of the night.
