Gashi Remains Undefeated, Outworks Goldie-Galloway

American Elvis Gashi (20-0, 10 KO) and Blackpool’s William Goldie-Galloway (13-4-0, 9 KO) locked horns, looking to make a statement in the GLORY lightweight division.

Gashi connected with a left straight right off the bell, wobbling Goldie-Galloway. The American continued to attack with heavy strikes, but Goldie-Galloway was able to recover and begin returning firing.

Just before the end of round Goldie-Galloway was able to capitalize on Gashi’s low hands, landing a pair of powerful right hands of his own before the bell sounded.

Round two began with Gashi marching forward and attacking the body of Goldie-Galloway. He was able to back the British fighter against the ropes and unload with punches.

When they separated, Gashi fired heavy left kicks to the body. The output of Goldie-Galloway waned as Gashi was relentless with his forward pressure.

Goldie-Galloway came out with a heavy counter right hand to open round three. Gashi took it flush on the chin but kept attacking.

The British lightweight appeared to wobble Gashi midway through the round, but Gashi responded with a big knee of his own. Gashi battered the legs of Goldie-Galloway with low kicks to close out the fight.

It was those leg kicks which really sealed the deal for Gashi; he had damaged his British opponent’s right leg heavily by the middle of the fight and that robbed Goldie-Galloway of a steady base from which to attack.

When the scorecards were read, Gashi captured the decision from all five judges at ringside.

Elvis Gashi def. William Goldie-Galloway by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
