GLORY 104 Showdown: Heavyweight Fighters Analysed

GLORY 104 is right around the corner. This event will feature two heavyweight tournaments that will determine the next finalists for the end of year grand finale. The Superfight Series card will feature a reserve bout between the brash Mo Amine (29-9, 16 KO) and veteran Errol Koning (47-16, 15 KO) as well as a highly anticipated fight opposing Levi Rigters (20-3, 10 KO) and Asadulla Nasipov (12-2, 5 KO). 

Levi Rigters made a big impact for his return at GLORY 103. By knocking out the Goliath Jamal Ben Saddik in the third round, The Prince has shown that the time away from the ring did not impact him in the slightest. This win qualified him for the next round of the Last Heavyweight Standing Tournament where he is looking to prove that he is the best in the world and earn another shot at the GLORY title down the line. It won’t be an easy task however as he needs to win two fights in October starting with the very tough Asadulla Nasipov. Nasipov made quite the impression in GLORY this year, claiming wins over Murat Aygun and Yuri Farcas on his way to GLORY 104. He is looking at Levi as the biggest fight in his career and his opportunity to breakthrough in a very competitive division. 

Fans can expect a very technical affair here. Asadulla Nasipov has showcased extremely clinical boxing in his last fights and he will be looking at closing the distance with Levi who will have a reach advantage over him. He needs to be aware of Levi’s kicks however. Not only because they bring a real finishing threat but also because Levi is a master at setting big shots by multiplying low kicks. Rigters might want to limit Nasipov’s mobility early on to be more comfortable in the boxing department and it is up to Asadulla to find a way around his opponent’s range. This will be a real chess match and the winner of this opposition will have a tough second fight regardless of the opposition. 

Opening GLORY 104’s fight card, Mo Amine makes his return in the reserve bout of the evening against Errol Koning. This will mark Amine’s first appearance in the GLORY ring this year and he wants to make a big impact to remind the public of who he is. Errol Koning might have fallen short at GLORY 103, but he has shown a lot of heart and we can expect a true brawl here. Both men are constantly looking for finishes and this fight is likely to be a short one. The winner of this opposition might step up during the night for a massive opportunity to qualify for the end of year grand finale.
