GLORY 95 took place Saturday night, September 21, from the Arena Zagreb, Croatia and it was a thrilling night that will be remembered as one of the most exciting in GLORY history.
The main event was a highly anticipated rematch between Levi Rigters (19-2, 9 KO) and Bahram Rajabzadeh (69-4, 61 KO). After 8 minutes of incredible back-and-forth action, Rajabzadeh was declared unable to continue the fight due to a cut on his forehead and Rigters earned a TKO win and the opportunity to face Rico Verhoeven (64-10, 21 KO) in the main event of COLLISION 7 on December 7 for the GLORY Heavyweight World Title.Â
For hist last appearance in the ring, Croatian legend Mladen Brestovac (56-14-1, 38 KO) used his illustrious kick one final time to beat Karim Dian (16-14, 3 KO) in the very first round. Mladen wasn’t the only fighting legend celebrated tonight as Mirko Cro Cop made an appearance to the delight of the packed Arena Zagreb.Â
In the first heavyweight bout of the evening, Nordine Mahiedinne (29-15, 13 KO) made his successful return to GLORY after more than a year off. He won a convincing decision win over Nikola Filipovic (11-3, 6 KO).
Andrej Kedves (20-4, 8 KO) defended home territory against Guerric Billet (41-8-1, 17 KO). The Croatian lightweight finished the frenchman in the third round after an incredibly dynamic bout.Â
Milos Cvjeticanin (11-2, 8 KO) made a very big impression for his debut. With three back to back knockdowns, the Serbian prospect made short work of the very though & previously undefeated Jimmy Livinus (12-1-1, 6 KO). The finish had the entire arena on their feet.Â
Elsewhere on the main card, Tariq ‘Cookie’ Osaro (25-4-1, 13 KO) got the job done against his short notice opponent Nico Horta (23-9, 3 KO). An unanimous decision win which gets him back in the win column after two defeats. We also saw a very rare extra round in the welterweight bout between Vedat Hoduk (49-6-1, 30 KO) and Arian Sadikovic (38-5, 18 KO). The Turkish fighter managed to gather the strength to top his opponent after twelve grueling minutes of fighting.Â
In the preliminary card, Cedric Do (49-7-1) made a successful return to GLORY, beating local fighter Filip Matic (1-1, 1 KO) in the second round. Vito Kosar (1-1, 1 KO) and Antonio Krajinovic (1-0, 1 KO) both had impressive performances, beating their opponent of the night in the very first round. Finally, Ivan Bertic (2-1, 1 KO) got the better of Danut Hurduc (46-7, 13 KO) in a very though fight that ended by decision.Â
