GLORY 96 took place Saturday night, October 12, from the sold out RTM Stage in Rotterdam, the Netherlands and it was a major night for GLORY world champions.

The main event saw an all-time GLORY classic with Chico Kwasi (43-5-1, 23 KO) & Tyjani Beztati (27-4-1, 9 KO) fighting to an epic draw. The two champions battled back and forth in a rollercoaster of a fight before both of their hands were raised.

In the co-main event, Donovan Wisse (22-1, 10 KO) equalled Alex Pereira’s title defense record after retaining his GLORY middleweight world championship for a fifth time thanks to another masterclass victory over Germany’s Sergej Braun (44-14, 27 KO).

Heavyweight fan favourite Nabil Khachab (29-5-1, 4 KO) scored a unanimous decision win over debuting Turkish fighter Bugra Tugay Erdogan (18-5, 6 KO).

Michael Boapeah (19-4-1, 7 KO) put himself back into title contention with arguably his best performance to date in defeating top prospect Mohamed Touchassie (16-3, 12 KO). The ‘King of Den Hague’ is now on a three-fight win streak and called for a rematch with Donovan Wisse.

Elsewhere on the main card, the debuting Mihailo Culafic (37-12, 19 KO) looked slick in his victory over Iliass Hammouche (34-7, 7 KO), France’s Bobo Sacko (77-6-1, 30 KO) defeated Denis Wosik (39-9-1, 9 KO), and Romanian heavyweight KO artist Ionut Iancu (30-9, 12 KO) moved to 2-0 in GLORY after stopping Cihad Kepenek (23-7, 16 KO) in the second round.

In the GLORY 96 prelims, Ibrahim El Bouni (42-10-1, 22 KO) made it a hattrick of wins over veteran Bogdan Stoica (58-16, 40 KO), top prospect Teodor Hristov (18-3, 7 KO) defeated Robin Ciric (23-8, 7 KO), Albania’s Asdren Gashi (18-4-1, 9 KO) beat Colin George (23-12, 21 KO) in a heavyweight war, and Mehdi Ait El Hadj (34-4-2, 8 KO) narrowly won in the opening fight of the night against Soufian Abdelkhalek (5-3-1, 2 KO) via split decision (30-27 x 3, 29-28, 28-29).
