GLORY 97 x RISE World Series Weigh-In Results

All fighters successfully weighed-in this morning ahead of the explosive GLORY x RISE Featherweight Grand Prix this Saturday at the Makuhari Messe Event Hall just outside of Tokyo in Japan.

It is the last event of 2024 and will cap off the biggest year in GLORY history. We have several sold-out events, returns to Belgium & Croatia, the reintroduction of the GLORY Grand Prix, and COLLISION 7 earlier this month broke attendance records.

Eight of the best and most exciting featherweights on the planet go head-to-head in a one-night tournament. The opening round of fights will feature four GLORY versus RISE match-ups.

GLORY featherweight champion Petch (170-40-3, 27 KO) goes up against former RISE champion Taiju Shiratori (30-10-1, 12 KO), the in-form Berjan Peposhi (30-4, 16 KO) takes on ‘The Korean Monster’ Sunghyun Lee (69-11-2, 17 KO), the always exciting Abraham Vidales (16-3, 13 KO) collides with current RISE champ Chadd Collins (63-17-2, 32 KO), and number one ranked GLORY featherweight Miguel Trindade (59-6, 24 KO) faces RISE great & former GLORY title contender Kento Haraguchi (26-4-1, 17 KO).

The Netherlands’ Jan Kaffa (20-4, 7 KO) will compete in a reserve match against Japan’s Yutaro Asahi (16-9, 3 KO). The winner here could enter the tournament in the case of a withdrawal from any of the participants.

As we saw from the GLORY Heavyweight & Light Heavyweight Grand Prix events earlier this year, anything can happen as the eight-man one-night tournaments present the most difficult challenge in all of combat sports.

In addition to the Featherweight Grand Prix, there are several world-class RISE superfights on display.

Most notably, Japan’s Takumi Sanekata (27-10-2, 6 KO) & Canada’s Usami Hide Meison (5-0-1, 3 KO) will compete for the vacant RISE welterweight title and 18-year-old phenom Ryujin Nasukawa (12-2, 5 KO), the younger brother of the great Tenshin, faces experienced Thai fighter Petmai MC Superlekmuaythai (42-11-2), a protégé of the legend Superlek.

RISE is Japan's number one martial arts organization where the strongest fighters gather and together with GLORY, this will be a memorable end of year show for both organisations.
