
GLORY 99: Last Heavyweight Standing takes place this Saturday, April 5, live from the Rotterdam Ahoy in the Netherlands. All thirty-two behemoths weigh-in earlier today in Amsterdam and topped the scale at combined 3,750 kg (8,269 lb), the equivalent of fourteen grizzly bears or seventeen silverback gorillas.
This event will kick-off the year-long Last Heavyweight Standing tournament. ‘The Goliath’ Jamal Ben Saddik (36-9, 26 KO) will take on ‘The Gladiator’ Cristian Ristea (44-25, 13 KO) in the main event of the evening, pitting two of the tournaments most devastating fighters against one another.
In the co-main event of the evening, the wild & unpredictable Bahram Rajabzadeh (70-4, 62 KO) returns for another tournament and will face Dutch veteran Brian Douwes (42-26-1, 31 KO), who holds career wins over Rico Verhoeven & Tarik Khbabez.
Other feature fights include, Nico ‘Big Sexy’ Horta (23-10, 3 KO) welcoming the debuting Rade Opačić (21-6, 16 KO), former interim champ Tariq Osaro (26-4-1, 13 KO) goes up against ‘Mr. Tournament’ himself Benjamin Adegbuyi (35-8, 20 KO) and the heaviest fighter of the night Nabil Kachab (29-5-1, 4 KO) will be facing one of the lightest in the Serbian Milos Cvjetićanin (11-3, 8 KO).
Winners from each bout will qualify for the next stage of the Last Heavyweight Standing tournament – four separate four-man one-night tournaments, which will take place at GLORY 100 held across two events June 13 & June 14.
