GLORY Signs New French Matchmaker Gyp Tessier

  • Announcement
  • Jun 3, 2024

GLORY kickboxing further signals its intent for growth within the French market with the acquisition Gyp Tessier as matchmaker & talent operations manager for the region. He will assist head of matchmaking and talent operations, Robbie Timmers, to scout and sign the best French talent while also helping internationally too.

“GLORY is bringing its full attention to France and the French fans. We will be putting on regular events where the country’s best kickboxer will be competing to earn their spot on the biggest stage in kickboxing,” said Gyp Tessier. “France has a true culture of combat sports and martial arts, the amount of talent is huge. GLORY will provide a platform for French kickboxers to shine at home and worldwide.”

“I’m thrilled to have someone with Tessier’s knowledge and expertise on board,” said Robbie Timmers. “France is a major focus for us, and having Tessier assist with scouting, signing, and developing new talent is a tremendous asset. With him on our team, I am confident we can create even better matches and further strengthen our weight divisions.”

GLORY does not require fighters to be affiliated with a specific management team, gym, or individual in order to compete. For more information on how to participate in GLORY, please email fighters@glorykickboxing.com.

A martial artist for almost four decades, Tessier began his journey in Paris in 1988 before travelling to Thailand in the early nineties. After several years honing his skills he departed for New York City where he trained under the legendary Phil Nurse, who would go on to coach the likes of GSP and Jon Jones.

From there, Tessier would move to London and was involved with the Urban Kings Gym which would be one of Europe’s top destinations for martial arts with the likes of Anderson Silva, Chuck Liddell, and the late Ramon Dekkers, all making stops there.

Tessier came on board with GLORY early in 2024 and was instrumental with the electric GLORY 91 fight card in Paris this past April which saw new French talent like Ramy Deghir, Bobo Sacko, and Mehdi Ait El Hadj, all make impressive debuts.
