Simon ‘Bad Bwoy’ Marcus has signed a multi-fight deal with the GLORY World Series.
Born in Toronto, Canada of Jamaican descent, Simon Marcus (39-0-1, 34 KO’s) is one of the world’s top middleweight kickboxers.
Among his many career credits are North American, National and World titles. Marcus is also regularly declared by media to be North America’s #1 pound-for-pound kickboxer.
“Marcus is an incredibly exciting talent who has been on the GLORY radar for some time,” says Cor Hemmers, GLORY Matchmaker and Head of Talent Operations.
“He joins a middleweight division which has all the world’s top fighters at this weight. We look forward to some exciting fights from Marcus over the coming year.”
A troubled youth led Marcus to seek the structure and discipline of Muay Thai, which in turn gave him the dream of becoming a world champion.
Today he has more than achieved those dreams, with a WBC Muay Thai world title and several IFMA world amateur titles to his name.
But one prize still remains to be claimed - the GLORY World Middleweight Championship Title.
The honor will be closely contested - the Middleweight division has numerous stars in its ranks. Among them is the California-based Joe Schilling (16-5, 10 KO’s), winner of the four-man tournament at GLORY 10 LOS ANGELES.
Marcus has fought Schilling twice under Muay Thai rules, scoring one stoppage via an elbow strike and winning a majority decision in the rematch. They will surely meet again in GLORY with Schilling aiming for revenge and Marcus aiming to complete the hat-trick.
