GLORY 100 is set to be the biggest event in kickboxing history and one of the biggest events of the combat sport calendar. This Saturday, June 14, four GLORY world titles will be on the line and four separate four-man one-night tournaments will occur to determine who qualifies for the Last Heavyweight Standing finals. Unfinished Business will be resolved in Rotterdam as GLORY Light Heavyweight Champion Tarik Khbabez (52-11-1, 28 KO) is set to face former world champion Sergej Maslobjoev (41-7, 25 KO) in a highly anticipated rematch.Â
Both men met each other back in 2022 at COLLISION 4 and the Lithuanian won a very close decision to take home the GLORY Light Heavyweight title. Fast forward a couple of years and Tarik Khbabez is now the champion and he has been on a warpath ever since that loss. Two wins over Donegi Abena (30-11, 10 KO) have cemented him as the best fighter of the division and he has shown an extraordinary resilience in all of his fights. Always moving forward and with great conditioning, “The Tank” is a nightmare for anyone at Light Heavyweight.Â
His toughness and durability will be challenged by Sergej Maslobojev. “The Sledgehammer” has earned a new shot at the belt after a very convincing win over Stefan Latescu (17-3, 8 KO) in December. He still feels that the title was wrongly taken from him at GLORY 83 and he is looking at that fight as an opportunity to prove that he still is and always was the best fighter at 95 kilos.Â
With a long career across different fight disciplines, Sergej Maslobjoev is one of the sharpest minds in the fighting world. His experience and high fight IQ have allowed him to make opponents crumble at times and he has also shown a great ability to absorb damage and keep pressing forward. However, Tarik Khbabez won’t shy away from a toughness test as he has shown many times that there is nothing an opponent can do that would make him take a step back.Â
This could be one of the craziest fights of the night. Both men have a similar mentality of always pushing forward and their first fight was a treat for the eyes. Not only is the belt on the line but both men have a lot to prove on June 14. Tarik wants to show that their first fight was a mistake while Sergej Maslobojev is eyeing a title he feels like he never lost. There is unfinished business here and it will be settled in brutal fashion.Â
