Osaro vs Adegbuyi fight preview by unibet

This saturday night, April 5, GLORY will kick-off the Last Heavyweight Standing Tournament with a stacked and action-packed fight card live from the Ahoy in Rotterdam. This event will feature 16 heavyweight bouts and will be headlined by the fight between Jamal Ben Saddik (37-9, 30 KO) and Cristian Ristea (44-25, 13 KO). GLORY 99 also features a highly anticipated fight between former GLORY title challenger Tariq Osaro (26-4-1, 13 KO) against the tournament specialist Benjamin Adegbuyi (35-8, 20 KO).

Coming off a win at GLORY 95 in Zagreb, Tariq Osaro wants to keep the ball running at GLORY 99. Cookie has been part of the top of the heavyweight rankings ever since his GLORY debut back in 2022. With career wins over the likes of Antonio Plazibat and Murat Aygun, he is one of the favorites to win the entire tournament. His ability to pressure opponents while avoiding getting hit in return has made him a very hard fight for any opponents. His impressive stature might trick some people into thinking that he is an easy fighter to frame but he absorbs less than 5 strikes per minute, less than half his GLORY 99 opponent’s numbers.

If GLORY tournaments were ever defined by a man, it would be Benjamin Adegbuyi. Benny has already participated at 5 tournaments under the GLORY’s umbrella and he won 3 of them in the spam of his 11 years run with the promotion. His last appearance inside the GLORY ring was back in early 2024 where he fell short against Nabil Khachab and he is now facing a new challenge in Tariq Osaro. With experience on his side, Benny aims at reminding the world that he still is a top fighter and that when it comes to tournaments, nobody can show up as he does.

He will have to be cautious of Cookie’s power to do so however. Adegbuyi is always ready for action and in the process of throwing a lot of volume, he also absorbs a lot of strikes which can be dangerous when facing a hard hitting opponent. His high-risk, high-reward style has proven very effective in his career but also came back to bite him at times against the most powerful of heavyweights such as Jamal Ben Saddik and Antonio Plazibat.

The Romanian is not lacking in the power department either. With 20 knockouts to his name, he will try to become the first man to ever get a finish win over Cookie. Using his kicks to prevent Osaro from setting his pace will be crucial for Benny and he needs to be the one that dictates the fight.

This fight promises to be one of the highest level one of the opening rounds and a big name will be knocked off the Last Heavyweight Standing tournament no matter what. We can’t wait to see what both men have prepared to make sure they are not the home leaving empty handed on April 5.
