Revenge and home pride underpin Collette-Dennis rematch

A rematch more than one year in the making has been added to the GLORY 32 VIRGINIA Superfight Series card. Brian 'The Lion' Collette (22-3, 18 KO's) and Myron 'The Future' Dennis (18-4, 8 KO's) will face off in a light-heavyweight match which comes nearly 18 months after their first meeting, which also took place in Virginia.

That first fight was a high-paced affair which saw each fighter win a round each before Collette sealed the deal with a third-round head-kick knockdown. He didn't manage to stop the incredibly tough Dennis but the knockdown did mean he won the round 10-8, ensuring it was his hand raised by the referee.

Coincidentally, that fight was the last time both were in the GLORY ring. Collette competed on the national US circuit in 2015, going 1-1, and Dennis focused his efforts on Mixed Martial Arts. He was rewarded with a slot on season twenty-three of The Ultimate Fighter, the UFC's long-running reality show. He won his first fight but was then eliminated in episode four.

Honor is on the line for both fighters in this rematch as Virginia native Collette seeks to fly the flag for his home state while Dennis comes gunning for revenge. Collette was very clear about the technical holes he found in Dennis' game last time – he said poor leg-kick defense allowed him to hammer Dennis' lead leg and change the momentum of the fight. Has Dennis been able to block that avenue up since they last met?

“Collette is 3-2 in GLORY and has the pleasure of fighting in his home state; that can boost his confidence but maybe he also feels a little pressure. Dennis has quite a bit of rust to shake off in the kickboxing game so that's a disadvantage, but he is fired up by the chance of scoring a win back against the guy who beat him last year, observes GLORY matchmaker Cor Hemmers.

GLORY 32 VIRGINIA takes place in Norfolk, VA on July 22 at the Ted Constant Convocation Center. The Superfight Series card airs live and exclusively on UFC Fight Pass.

It will be followed by the numbered card, which airs live on ESPN3 at 10pm ET and live+1hr (11pm ET) on ESPN2. That card is headlined by featherweight champion Serhiy Adamchuk of Ukraine defending the title against former champion Gabriel Varga of Canada.
