Rico Verhoeven vs Artem Vakhitov to headline GLORY 100 DAY 2

GLORY, the world’s premier kickboxing organisation, will deliver the ‘Duel of the Legends: Verhoeven vs. Vakhitov’ at GLORY 100 on June 14 as two of the greatest GLORY champions go head-to-head at this historic event.

The ‘King of Kickboxing’ & reigning GLORY heavyweight world champion Rico Verhoeven (65-10, 21 KO) has remained unbeaten in GLORY for over a decade and has defended his title a dozen times against the giants of kickboxing from past and present generations.

Now the 35-year-old is set to meet his most formidable opponent to date in the returning Artem Vakhitov (23-6, 8 KO). Known to be one of the greatest champions in GLORY history, Vakhitov is a two-time GLORY light heavyweight world champion and the most dominant title holder in his division’s history with five defenses.

Vakhitov, regarded as one of the most technically gifted fighters to step foot in a GLORY ring, last competed in the organization in 2021, where he defeated Alex Pereira, ending the Brazilian’s legendary kickboxing run. Since then, the 33-year-old has remained one of the most sought-after free agents in combat sports, recently securing a win on Dana White’s Contender Series. Despite offers from around the world, Vakhitov has chosen to return to GLORY, moving up in weight to challenge Verhoeven for heavyweight gold.
