RIGTERS VS RAJABZADEH : FIGHT PREVIEW BY UNIBET

The preview of GLORY 95's main event preview is powered by Unibet.

A massive number one contender fight takes place in the main event of GLORY 95 this Saturday, September 21, at the Arena Zagreb in Croatia, as number one ranked heavyweight Levi Rigters (18-2, 8 KO) takes on the number two ranked Bahram Rajabzadeh (69-3, 61 KO).

This fight is a rematch of their controversial outing at the GLORY Heavyweight Grand Prix. Here both fighters met in the semi-finals where they shared knockdowns in a thrilling three round contest. However, it was Rigters who was awarded the decision victory, much to the dismay of Rajabzadeh and everyone in attendance.

This decision drew a lot of criticism as many felt like Rajabzadeh should have had his hand raised due to trying to his aggression and fan pleasing fighting style.

Now they will meet again, but this time the fight will be contested over five rounds, a first for a non-title fight in GLORY. Leaving no room for error and no doubt on who the winner will be.

Stylistically, the fighters are complete opposites. Rigters is more composed and likes to pick his shots while Rajabzadeh is a berserker who loves to blitz his opponents with a variety of wild and unpredictable strikes.

While the size and reach advantage belongs to Rigters, Rajabzadeh has the speed and, as we’ve seen in his previous heavyweight fights in GLORY, this has caused a lot of trouble for all the previous bigger opponents.

When looking at their stats, Rigters has the better striking accuracy and this could be key for his route to victory. Picking his shots and not wasting any energy over the five rounds and letting Rajabzadeh punch himself out.

Both fighters need to fight smart in this one and, of the two, Rigters is the smarter fighter. In saying that, Rajabzadeh can easily learn from his previous mistakes and make one or two adjustments. If he does this, it could be a very difficult night for Rigters.

This is one of the most intriguing rematches in GLORY history and whoever wins will have earned his spot to face Rico Verhoeven at GLORY COLLSION 7 on December 7.
