There has been a huge shake-up to the GLORY COLLISION 5 card this Saturday as light heavyweight champ Donegi Abena was struck down with an illness earlier this week and, as a result, he was removed from the card.
This left Tarik Khbabez (48-10-1, 27 KO) without an opponent and moved the number of title fights on the card down to three. However, recent signee Mohamed Amine (29-4, 16 KO) answered the call to step-in to face Khabez for a new interim-light heavyweight title.
Amine made a statement in his GLORY debut in April with an impressive decision victory over veteran Michael Duut. This victory skyrocketed him to number five in the division and had us all wanting & waiting for his sophomore appearance. Now it’s here and the 26-year-old has his chance to become a champion in just his second fight in GLORY.
“Credit must go to both Tarik Khbabez and Mohamed Amine for accepting to face one another,” said GLORY matchmaker Robbie Timmers. “The late change of opponent is a big risk for Khbabez and for Amine to step-in on just a couple of days’ notice against a fighter of Khbabez’s calibre. We are also super excited to stay at four title fights at COLLISION 5. It’s going to be an incredible night of kickboxing.”
GLORY COLLISION 5 takes place this Saturday, June 17, live from the Ahoy Rotterdam in the Netherlands and will be available to watch exclusively on Videoland in the Netherlands, while fans worldwide can enjoy the fights on GLORYFights.com and through various broadcast partners around the globe.
