Teen prodigy Bekah Irwin set to make second GLORY appearance

Teen prodigy Bekah Irwin (5-2, 1 KO's) returns to the ring next month for her second GLORY appearance of 2019. 

The Houston, Texas youngster debuted in her home city in January with a win over veteran opponent Stephanie Skinner and now looks for her second win in the world’s premier kickboxing league. 

At GLORY 67 ORLANDO she will face Crystal ‘Bear’ Lawson (2-1, 1 KO) of North Carolina, USA. 

Lawson has 12 years of Muay Thai training under her belt and has competed in Muay Thai and MMA both domestically and internationally, including fights in Thailand and France.

After a long period competing as an amateur she recently turned pro and carries a winning record into this fight.

Irwin came to prominence via three successive years of winning the gold medal in her weight category at the IFMA Youth World Championships.

Having aged out of the IFMA Youth category when she turned 18, Irwin decided to turn professional and soon afterwards became the youngest fighter ever to sign with GLORY.

Irwin’s stated aim on signing with GLORY was to “climb the ranks quickly” and get into contender-level fights with the likes of Sofia Olofsson and Tiffany van Soest.

The young Texan will need several more wins before she can enter the ring with such top-tier competitors though. The next step of her journey takes her to Orlando for this showdown with ‘Bear’ Lawson.

GLORY 67 ORLANDO takes place Friday, July 5 at the Silver Spurs Arena, Kissimmee, Orlando Metropolitan Area.

In the main event, world featherweight champion Petchpanomrung travels from Thailand to defend his belt against Anvar ‘The Uzbek’ Boynazarov, owner of more wins by KO than any fighter in the division.

Also on the card is Florida’s own Asa Ten Pow (9-1, 5 KO’s), looking to extend his GLORY run to 4-0.
