American middleweights Matt Baker (22-6, 1 NC, 11 KO’s) and Ryot Waller (2-0, 1 KO) locked horns on the GLORY 63 SuperFight Series in Houston.
Waller powered forward to get inside and nearly sent the fighters over the top rope. Baker smiled as the pair separated.
Baker walked Waller against the ropes and he looked for an opening in the guard of the Chicago fighter.
Waller switched stances and threw punches at the guard of Baker. Baker scored with short knees and finished the round with a heavy head kick that Waller partially blocked.
Baker attacked with low kicks at the start of round two. Waller fired with punches, but left himself unprotected.
Baker crushed him along the ropes with a series of punches. Waller collapsed to the mat, but survived the count. Baker went for the kill, earning a second knockdown just a few moments later.
Waller showed heart, continuing to fight, but his chin was upright and Baker again crushed him with a right hand. That was enough for the referee, who stepped in to halt the bout.
