A welterweight match-up between Russian knockout artist Dmitrii Menshikov (21-2, 17 KO’s) and Holland’s Robbie Hageman (53-10-1, 9 KO’s) served as the swing bout for the GLORY 62 SuperFight Series in Rotterdam.
Hageman’s low kicks were his weapon of choice to start, keeping the power-punching Menshikov on the outside.Â
Menshikov was able to get in boxing range, but it was Hageman who scored with a punching combination. Menshikov was unfazed and threw counter shots with power.Â
A huge right hand along the ropes hurt Hageman badly and he crashed face-first to the mat.Â
The referee started a count and Hageman struggled to get back to his feet. It appeared he beat the count, but the referee did not believe he could continue and called the fight.
“I’m very happy like always. I’m ready to go again,” said Menshikov.
