Dylan Salvador (49-12-1) and Massaro Glunder (30-9-4) were today confirmed as occupants of the main event slot for the GLORY 47 LYON card taking place in the historic French city of Lyon next Saturday evening.  Salvador, who was born in Lyon before moving to the nearby Perpignan, will have the crowd behind him as he sets out to remind people why his name immediately entered the contender conversation when he first signed with GLORY.  He justified that when he won the Lightweight Contender Tournament at GLORY 36 in December last year, earning himself a title shot against reigning champion Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong. He owns a 2015 win over Sitthichai under Muay Thai rules but fell short in GLORY, suffering a stoppage loss at GLORY 39.  Salvador then dropped to featherweight, which is his natural weight class, and immediately went into a fight against former champion Serhiy Adamchuk. The fight took place on French soil at GLORY 42 PARIS but Salvador found himself outpointed by the tricky Ukrainian and lost a decision.  While there is no shame in losing to a current champion and a former champion in succession, the losses have lit a fire under Salvador and made him determined to put on a decisive show of his own quality.  Standing opposite him and fully intended to turn that brace of losses into a full-blown skid is Amsterdamâs Massaro Glunder.  Glunderâs GLORY tenure almost identical mirrors Salvadorâs. He joined up as a lightweight when he stepped in to the GLORY 42 PARIS lightweight tournament on three daysâ notice, stopping Niclas Larsen and then losing a close decision to team mate Chris Baya in the final.  He then dropped to his preferred featherweight, for a fight with Zakaria Zougarry at GLORY 45 HOLLAND last month. Again it was a close fight and again he lost a decision, putting him also on a run of back-to-back losses.  Both fighters are high-level competitors and vastly experienced, which makes their current predicament especially unwelcome for them. Both see themselves as contenders and cannot tolerate the possibility of seeing themselves put on a three-fight losing streak, setting the stage for an intense dogfight in the Superfight Series headliner.  GLORY 47 LYON takes place Saturday, October 28 in Lyon, France and, as usual, consists of two cards. First the GLORY 47 SUPERFIGHT SERIES card takes place, airing live worldwide on UFC Fight Pass, followed by the GLORY 47 LYON card, which airs live on ESPN 3 and other platforms.
