Christian âBad Newsâ Baya will almost certainly be fighting for the lightweight title in his next outing, according to GLORYâs head matchmaker.  Speaking backstage after Bayaâs first-round mauling of Samo Petje, Cor Hemmers said there would likely be good news coming for âBad Newsâ.  âHe won a contender tournament already and now with an impressive stoppage win like this, certainly heâs very likely to be going for the title next,â he said.  Several of Bayaâs team mates in fight week mentioned during their pre-fight interviews that he is âa lightweight who hits like a heavyweightâ.  Baya confirmed that assessment in the fight with Petje, rocking him early with heavy hands and keeping the pressure on until the Slovenian crumbled.  Knockdown followed knockdown until the fight was called and Baya was declared the winner by way of knockout.  Now the Mikeâs Gym lightweight looks forward to hopefully getting a shot at Sitthichai and the lightweight title.  âHeâs a good fighter, really good, but I think I have the tools to beat him. So if I can get that fight then yeah, the belt will be coming to me in 2018,â he says.  Chris Baya def. Samo Petje, Knockout, R1Â
