The GLORY 64 SuperFight Series featured a featherweight rematch between Uzbekistan’s Anvar Boynazarov (95-26-2, 54 KO’s) and Frenchman Abdellah Ezbiri (47-14-1, 14 KO’s).
Ezbiri used his kicks to set his range. He followed with a combination to the body of Boynazarov. The French fighter just missed with a spinning back kick. Boynazarov used a high guard to defend and looked for openings to counter.Â
A big straight right from Ezbiri sent Boynazarov stumbling backwards to the ropes, but he did not go down. The volume of Ezbiri dwarfed the output of the Uzbek fighter. As the round closed, Boynazarov cracked Ezbiri with a right hand and earned a knockdown. Ezbiri survived the post-bell count to see round two.
Another right hand from Boynazarov caught a reckless Ezbiri early in round two. Ezbiri protested that it was a slip, but the referee counted once more. Already the aggressor, Ezbiri turned up his output further following the knockdown. He peppered the legs of Boynazarov with kicks and worked the body with punches.Â
The forward pressure of Ezbiri continued in the final round, as he sought a knockdown of his own. A heavy low kick sent Boynazarov to the mat, but the referee ruled it a slip. Ezbiri battered the lead leg of Boynazarov with inside and outside kicks. Boynazarov fired a heavy right hand late in the fight, but it did not connect.
With the pair of knockdowns, there was no doubt on the scorecards, as the power of Boynazarov bested the volume of Ezbiri.
Anvar Boynazarov def. Abdellah Ezbiri by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-26, 29-27, 29-27, 29-27)
