“Do or die” Harut Grigorian added to GLORY: COLLISION card

Welterweight brawler Harut Grigorian (42-9, 31 KO's) has been added to the GLORY: COLLISION event taking place Saturday, December 10 in Germany. He will meet German lightweight Danijel Solanja on the SUPERFIGHT SERIES section of the card.

Grigorian's own coach describes his crowd-pleasing style as “do or die”. The Armenian lightweight goes all-out from the opening bell and his coach's appraisal is reflected in his record: 73% of his wins are by KO and TKO and approximately half of his losses were also inside the distance.

Solanja presents a less manic style than Grigorian but is still very much a fighter who likes to sit in the pocket with his opponent and do work, rather than playing for points from the outside. The resulting match should, therefore, be an explosive one.

“I matched these two with the name of the event in mind,” says GLORY's senior matchmaker Cor Hemmers. “The overall event is called COLLISION and that is what there will be with these, a collision in the center of the ring and an action-packed fight for the fans.”

Solanja is actually based in Oberhausen, Germany, where the fight will take place at the Konig-Pilsner Arena. He is a protege of Kamal El Amrani, a former European and World champion in Muay Thai and kickboxing who now trains his own stable of fighters.

Also confirmed for the SUPERFIGHT SERIES section of the card is a fight between the returning Andrej Bruhl (42-5, 15 KO's), last seen at GLORY 8 TOKYO, and debuting Dutch-Moroccan youngster Tyjani Beztati (58-2-1, 21 KO's).

Watch GLORY 36 SUPERFIGHT SERIES live on UFC FIGHT PASS on Saturday, December 10. The card will be followed by GLORY 36 GERMANY and the evening will then conclude with the four-fight GLORY: COLLISION pay-per-view headlined by Rico Verhoeven and Badr Hari, priced at $29.95 and available through US providers (DISH, DirecTV, iNDemand) and digitally via UFC.tv
