Khbabez vs. Toure Fight Preview

  • News
  • Jun 3, 2024

The Quarterfinal 1 fight preview of the GLORY Light Heavyweight Grand Prix is powered by Unibet.

This Saturday, June 8, we will witness one of the most anticipated GLORY Grand Prix events ever as eight of the most explosive light heavyweights clash in an explosive one-night tournament.

In the opening fight of the tournament, GLORY light heavyweight world champion Tarik Khbabez (50-10-1, 28 KO) will face the number six ranked Pascal Toure (20-6, 7 KO).

Through a random selection draw last month, Khbabez was given first pick and he chose to fight Toure. The Frenchman then had the option to accept of reject the fight, however, rumour has it that he was Khbabez in the first round also and he accepted straight away.

Both men obviously see flaws in the other in which they can expose and make it through to the semi-finals. But let us dive a little further into the fight.

With over sixty professional fights, Khbabez is the significantly more experienced fighter. Not only that, the 32-year-old has also competed in three title bouts and a tournament final since his arrival in GLORY in 2021.

The big-time experience is on the Moroccan’s side and he will be the clear favourite to go through to the next round, however, Toure has a brash confidence on his side. The Frenchman has nothing to lose and understands this is his moment to shine and make a name for himself against the world champion.

To many it would be a daunting task. But not for Toure, he is relishing the opportunity. When a fighter has that mindset, he can be a dangerous opponent. Notwithstanding the fact, he is a big & tall light heavyweight with KO potential and on a good winning streak.

This is a perfect way to open the GLORY Light Heavyweight Grand Prix.
