GLORY will return to Amsterdam on Saturday, June 25 for GLORY 31 AMSTERDAM, it was announced during the Superfight Series broadcast at GLORY 29 COPENHAGEN.
The card, which will air live on UFC Fight Pass, will be headlined by light-heavyweight champion Artem Vakhitov (15-5, 5 KO's) making his first defense of the belt he took from former champion Saulo Cavalari at GLORY 28 PARIS.
His opponent will be Mourad âThe Silent Powerâ Bouzidi (79-22-2, 34 KO's), a veteran campaigner who has found solid form in the past twelve months and fought his way to a well-deserved title shot. Bouzidi has more than 100 fights to his name, mostly against top name opposition.
âBouzidi is on a great run right now. He is on a four-fight win streak and beat the division's former number one, Danyo Ilunga, in his last fight. He has fought his way into the top three and he deserves this title shot in his home city of Amsterdam,â said GLORY matchmaker Cor Hemmers.
âVakhitov is one of the sport's rising stars. He is a real athlete with great hands and good boxing skills. He put on a masterful performance in Paris to take the belt from Cavalari and he's going to be super-motivated to take on a name like Bouzidi in the spiritual home of the sport.â
GLORY 31 AMSTERDAM takes place at the RAI Amsterdam, the same venue which hosted the sold-out GLORY 26 AMSTERDAM event in December. Tickets for GLORY 31 AMSTERDAM go on sale next week, Friday April 22, via Ticketmaster.nlÂ
