GLORY 23 LAS VEGAS: Vigney vs. Sam set for co-headline slot

Heavyweight Qualification Tournament winner Xavier ‘X-Man’ Vigney (8-1, 8 KO’s) brings a perfect professional record to the ring for a Friday, August 8 showdown with British banger Daniel ‘The Warrior’ Sam (25-10, 13 KO’s).

The fight occupies the co-headline slot of the GLORY 23 LAS VEGAS card, which airs live across the USA on Spike TV at 11pm ET.

Vigney is now 3-0 in the organization with all three wins by finish. Last month he stopped two opponents in one night to win the GLORY 21 SAN DIEGO four-man Heavyweight Qualification Tournament.

Fighting out of the Bay Area in California, USA as part of Team Black, his trainer Dan Black was the striking coach for the Cesar Gracie Fight Team when it included Nick Diaz, Nate Diaz, Gilbert Melendez and Jake Shields.

Prior to participating in the GLORY 21 SAN DIEGO tournament Vigney was one of Nick Diaz’s striking sparring partners as the Stockton, CA fighter prepared for his UFC 183 showdown with former middleweight champion Anderson ‘The Spider’ Silva.

Sam is from London, England but fights out of Mike’s Gym in Amsterdam, Netherlands, a world-famous kickboxing academy which has been represented by standout names such as Gokhan Saki, Badr Hari and Melvin Manhoef.

In his last appearance in the GLORY ring Sam faced the surging Romanian talent Benjamin Adegbuyi at GLORY 16 DENVER but lost by stoppage. Adegbuyi recently challenged for the World Heavyweight Championship while Sam is looking to get back in the win column and stop Vigney’s momentum.

GLORY 23 LAS VEGAS takes place at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada and features Nieky ‘The Natural’ Holzken vs. Raymond ‘Real Deal’ Daniels in the main event as they compete for the World Welterweight Championship.

The event airs live in the US on Spike TV at 11pm ET/10pm CT.
