GLORY 23 LAS VEGAS Weigh-In Results

  • News
  • Aug 6, 2015

All fighters made weight at the first attempt today during the official weigh-ins for Friday’s GLORY 23 LAS VEGAS event.

The weigh-ins took place at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, which will also be the scene of tomorrow night’s fights.

Headliners Nieky ‘The Natural’ Holzken and Raymond ‘Real Deal’ Daniels first met in the final of the GLORY 19 Welterweight Contender Tournament in February this year. Holzken won the fight by stoppage to set up a fight with ‘Bazooka’ Joe Valtellini for the World Welterweight Championship.

Unfortunately the Canadian-Italian was then forced to vacate the title to deal with a health issue. Daniels had already talked about wanting to rematch Holzken as soon as possible in a non-tournament setting, which Holzken did not appreciate, and Valtellini’s vacating the belt set the rematch up.

A simmering rivalry exists between the two and it will be settled on Friday night. There were no open hostilities as they weighed in today, only a mutual exchange of flat, cold stares. That will give way to heat tomorrow night as they look to finish the fight in spectacular fashion and capture the World Welterweight Championship.

GLORY 23 LAS VEGAS airs live in the US on Spike TV at 11pm ET/10pm CT. The co-main event sees California’s Xavier Vigney face Britain’s Daniel Sam in a heavyweight encounter and the Spike TV card is rounded out by
