Robin van Roosmalen and Nieky Holzken were the winners of the GLORY 34 DENVER Fight Night Bonuses at the weekend.
Van Roosmalen bested defending featherweight champion Gabriel Varga to such an extent that Varga's corner pulled him from the fight at the end of the fourth round to spare him from unnecessary further damage.
The fight is thus recorded as a TKO win for Van Roosmalen.
Given that he dethroned the champion and in the process became the first fighter ever in GLORY history to win a belt in two different weight divisions, it was determined that his victory deserved to be awarded the 'Knockout of the Night', although Thai standout Thongchai Sitsongpeenong was in close contention for the honor.
Holzken defeated bitter rival Murthel Groenhart by way of unanimous decision, going 3-0 over him in their series of fights. In doing so he retained the GLORY welterweight championship and also set two records: most wins in GLORY and longest undefeated streak in GLORY.
His win over Groenhart was therefore determined to be the Performance of the Night.
Both awards carry with them a bonus payment of $5,000.
GLORY's next event takes place Saturday, November 5 in Nice, France and is headlined by light-heavyweight champion Artem Vakhitov facing interim light-heavyweight champion Zack Mwekassa, with the winner emerging as the undisputed light-heavyweight champion of the world.
