Massaro Glunder late addition to GLORY 42 tournament

Massaro Glunder (29-8-4, 19 KO's) has joined the GLORY 42 PARIS Lightweight Contender Tournament line-up.

Fighting out of Mike's Gym, Amsterdam, the young prospect has accepted a late call-up to take part in the tournament following the withdrawal of his teammate Stoyan Koprivlenski due to injury.

Glunder typically fights at featherweight and is widely experienced, having fought in Japan and China as well as all around Europe.

Because the call-up is so late, he does not need to make a weight cut. His walkaround-weight hovers around the lightweight limit.

In the semi-final stage he will face Niclas Larsen (46-8-2, 24 KO's) of Denmark. Larsen is 2-0 in GLORY this year and 3-1 in GLORY but Glunder professes himself not to be a fan of the Dane's eccentric fighting style, catergorizing it as “running away the whole time”

The other semi-final has Glunder's team mate Chris Baya (57-5-1, 34 KO's) facing off with Anatoly Moiseev (16-2, 5 KO's) of Russia. According to Glunder, he and Baya discussed the possibility of facing each other in the final and decided to “go at it” if they do and “try to knock each other out”.

“We already do that with each other all the time in sparring anyway, so a fight would be no different, except no shinguards and smaller gloves,” he explains.

GLORY 42 PARIS takes place Saturday night in the French capital city and is headlined by welterweight champion Cedric Doumbé against former champion Nieky Holzken.
