The line-up for the GLORY 12 NEW YORK four-man Lightweight World Championship Tournament has been confirmed.
Having taken the world #1 ranking spot following his victory at GLORY 10, the Dutch powerhouse Robin Van Roosmalen (30-5, 19 KOâs) enters the tournament as the top seed. He faces karate stylist Davit Kiria (21-8, 6 KOâs), who climbed to #3 in the rankings after also winning his fight at GLORY 10.
Pound-for-pound greatest Giorgio Petrosyan (78-1-1, 35 KOâs), is now #2 in the rankings and he faces Andy âThe Machineâ Riste (39-3-1, 19 KOâs), ranked at #4. Petrosyan has just one loss on his record and Ristie has been on a tear lately and is undefeated in GLORY.
The winner of the tournament will emerge as the GLORY Lightweight Tournament Champion and will scoop a cash prize of $150,000. The event will air live in the USA on Spike TV and will be screened in over 170 territories around the world.
âPetrosyan is noted for his technical perfection, Van Roosmalen for his power, Kiria for his ferocity and Ristie for his dangerous unorthodoxy. This is an explosive mixture and guarantees that the GLORY 12 tournament will be among the most exciting events we have ever staged,â says GLORY Sports International CEO Andrew Whitaker.
Two fighters will also take part in a tournament reserve match, the winner of which will be available to step into the tournament final should either of the victorious tournament fighters be injured or otherwise unable to compete. Their names will be announced soon.
GLORY 12 NEW YORK takes place at the Madison Square Garden Theatre in New York City on Saturday November 23. Go to www.gloryworldseries.com for further news, tickets and event information.
