  • Nov 22, 2013

All fighters were on weight at today’s official GLORY 12 NEW YORK weigh ins, which took place at Dave & Buster’s in downtown Manhattan.

Headliners Joe ’Stitch ’Em Up’ Schilling and Wayne Barrett had an intense staredown after weighing in at 186lbs and 185lbs respectively.

Tension has been steadily building between the two in recent weeks and tomorrow night their West Coast/East Coast rivalry will be decided in a bout with huge implications for the middleweight division.

The co-headline event features two of the biggest men on the GLORY roster. ‘The Goliath’ Jamal Ben Saddik touched down at 260lbs while his Australian opponent Ben Edwards came in at 259lbs.

The centerpiece of GLORY 12 NEW YORK is a Lightweight Championship Tournament featuring the top four lightweight kickboxers in the world.

Robin Van Roosmalen, ranked #1 since his win over Shemsi Beqiri at GLORY 10 LOS ANGELES, hit the scales at 153lbs.

His semi-final opponent Davit Kiria, an Ashihira Karate stylist from Georgia in the former Soviet Union, weighed in at 154lbs.

Giorgio Petrosyan, the undisputed pound-for-pound best kickboxer in the world, weighed in at 152lbs for his semi-final match with Andy ‘The Machine’ Ristie.

Ristie, who tipped the scales 153lbs, is the underdog in that fight but has promised he is going to be the first to knock Petrosyan out, a promise he repeated to Petrosyan’s face during their staredown.

Tournament reservist Ky Hollenbeck of San Francisco weighed in at 153lbs, as did his opponent Warren Stevelmans, a team mate of Remy Bonjasky from the legendary Vos Gym in Amsterdam.

GLORY 12 NEW YORK will open with six fights taking place as part of the GLORY Superfight Series, which will be available to members of GloryWorldSeries.com

Russian standout Artem Vakhitov hit the scales at 203lbs for his match with Nenad Pagonis of Serbia, who weighed 207lbs.

Also in the light-heavyweight division, Warren Thompson weighed in at 205lbs for his All-American match with Brian ‘The Lion’ Collette, 207lbs.

Brazilian heavyweight Jhonata Diniz hit the scales at 238lbs for his fight with Croatia’s Igor Jurkovic. A former training partner of Mirko ‘CroCop’ Filipovic, Jurkovic touched down at 215lbs.

Georgia native Eddie ‘Showtime’ Walker makes his welterweight debut at this event. He weighed in at 169lbs. Francois Ambang, of New York via Cameroon, was 170lbs dead on.

100-fight veteran Mourad Bouzidi weighed in at 208lbs for his fight with Saulo Cavalari. The native of the famous fighting city of Curitiba, Brazil weighed in at 208lbs.

Opening the evening’s proceedings will be another Brazilian, the Bellator veteran Thiago Michel. He weighed in at 168lbs for his welterweight fight. Opponent Paul Marfort of Argentina weighed in at 170lbs.

GLORY 12 NEW YORK takes place at The Theater at Madison Square Garden, New York City. It airs live on SPIKE TV at 9pm ET and in the UK at 2am GMT on BT SPORT.
