Israel ‘Iz’ Adesanya has been signed to a multi-fight deal with the GLORY World Series.
The New Zealand native will join the middleweight (85kgs/187lbs) division, home to top contenders such as Artem Levin, Joe ‘Stitch Em Up’ Schilling and Wayne Barrett.
Adesanya has long been a dominant force in the rings of his native New Zealand, where he has captured several national titles.
Fighting out of CityKickboxing in the city of Auckland, the orthodox Muay Thai stylist has fought around the world, most recently adding China to the list of countries he has competed in.
A recent fight with the highly regarded Simon Marcus of Canada brought Adesanya considerable attention. The two had a war in a recent WLF tournament, which you can watch here.
A debut date and opponent will be announced in the near future.
GLORY’s next event takes place Saturday, March 8 in Zagreb, Croatia.
Headlined by a clash between legendary heavyweights Mirko ‘CroCop’ Filipovic and Remy Bonjasky, it airs on SPIKE TV in the US and in over 150 territories worldwide - check local listings for details.
