Josh Jauncey (21-4, 10 KOâs) will make his third appearance for GLORY next month.
The young Canadian prospect is set to fight on the SUPERFIGHT SERIES 19 card at GLORY 19, which takes place in Virginia, USA on Friday, February 6.
Jauncey, who has been widely highlighted by multiple fight media personalities as âone to watchâ, will face 22-year-old Germany's Max Baumert (13-4, 4 KO's), whose last appearance for the organization was at GLORY 6 ISTANBUL in April 2013. He won his undercard fight by KO.
âJauncey has gone 2-0 in GLORY with two very impressive performances. He has beaten two established veterans and now we will see him against a fellow young, hungry fighter,â says Cor Hemmers, GLORY Head of Talent Operations.
âAlso there is an interesting background to this fight. Jauncey is from Canada but is a member of Team Souwer, he has trained a lot in the Netherlands, and last year Baumert fought against Souwer and was stopped by him in the second round.
âSo in this fight there is a chance for Baumert to get some revenge by trying to beat the youngest member of Team Souwer and upset those guys. But Jauncey wonât want to let that happen, he has some good momentum now and he will be looking to put on another show for the fans and further climb the rankings.â
Baumert goes into the fight on a two-fight win streak. He went 3-1 in 2014 with only the loss to Souwer marring his year.
Hemmers also revealed that Jauncey has just signed a new âmulti-fight, long-term dealâ with GLORY which will see this exciting new talent develop in the Glory World Series ring for the immediate future. Middleweight contender Joe âStitch âEm Upâ Schilling also renewed his GLORY contract this week and appears in the co-main event of GLORY 19 against Robert âThe White Dragonâ Thomas.
GLORY 19 takes place Friday, February 6 at the Hampton Coliseum in Virginia, USA and airs live in the US on Spike TV and on The Fight Network in Canada. Fights from the SUPERFIGHT SERIES card currently air live in certain territories before being released via tape-delay on the official GLORY YouTube channel.
Several avenues for widespread live broadcasting of the SUPERFIGHT SERIES card are under consideration at present and fans can look forward to this developing in 2015, adding even more live GLORY content to their viewing calendar.
